Description & Details:
General Responsibility: As an Assistant Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the daily operations of our zip line canopy tour and high ropes adventure park. This full-time, seasonal position involves managing staff, ensuring a positive guest experience, and contributing to the development of innovative programming.
Education/Know How:
- High school graduate with five or more years of experience in recreation, outdoor activities, adventure programming, or education. College degree preferred.
- Prior supervisory experience is required.
- Friendly and passionate about working in the outdoor recreation industry.
- High energy level and ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication skills with both guests and staff.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask effectively.
- Comfortable working with people of all ages and backgrounds.
- Physically able to perform the functions of working on the Canopy Tour and Adventure Park.
- Willingness to complete and pass training for both programs.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications and internet-based programs.
- Comfortable using general office equipment, including computers, phones, printers, and cash registers.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Oversee the overall guest experience, ensuring satisfaction and safety.
- Mentor and develop Supervisors, Office staff, Guides, and Monitors.
- Manage scheduling for both guests and staff.
- Handle general administrative responsibilities, including email, voicemail, and
reporting. - Address and resolve customer issues with a strong focus on exceptional customer service.
- Manage retail (gift store) sales and inventory.
- Recruit, train, and discipline staff as necessary.
- Create a positive and enjoyable work environment prioritizing safety.
- Set a positive and enthusiastic tone for the company.
- Contribute to the development of new and innovative programming.
- Oversee supervisors and ensure completion of assigned tasks.
- Facilitate staff development, training, and scheduling.
Physical & Mental Demands:
- Ability to lift 20 lbs.
- Position requires ability to walk around the rough terrain of ZipZone Outdoor Adventures
- Able to stand/move without sitting for four to five hours at a time
- Able to handle all emergency situations that may arise
Essential Functions:
- Ability to communicate and work with individuals or groups participating in activities.
- Visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental and other hazards related to all activities.
- Ability to communicate and follow safety regulations and emergency procedures.
- Ability to observe guests and ensure appropriate safety.
- Ability to identify and respond to hazards, weather emergencies, etc.
- Ability to plan, conduct, and supervise activities and programs for groups of 8 - 12 people.
Other Duties:
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
Schedule:
- This is a full time, seasonal position—generally 40-50 hr/week.
- Candidates should have a flexible schedule with both weekday and weekend availability. The season runs from March through November.
- Typical work week includes both Saturday and Sunday work with two weekdays off.
