Overview:
Beanstalk Builders is seeking a skilled Lead Builder to oversee the construction of adventure playgrounds (as well the occasional aerial adventure park and treehouse). The ideal candidate has strong carpentry skills, experience with outdoor construction, and the ability to lead a team in building creative and safe play spaces for children.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of builders in constructing playgrounds, ensuring safety and durability.
- Collaborate with designers, project managers, clients, and subcontractors to interpret and execute construction plans as well as ensure a smooth workflow.
- Manage on-site logistics, including materials procurement and team schedules.
- Oversee site safety, maintaining compliance with all safety standards and regulations.
- Perform quality control on all builds, ensuring they meet the design specifications and environmental sustainability standards.
- Train and supervise junior builders on safety protocols and construction techniques.
- Coordinate with landscape architects and other contractors on site.
- Monitor progress and ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience (5+ years) in construction, preferably in playground, aerial adventure parks, climbing towers, or outdoor space projects, with a focus on creative or custom builds.
- Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills with the ability to manage a team under tight deadlines.
- Ability to work with diverse materials such as wood, metal, composite materials, stone, and rope.
- Familiarity with construction safety regulations (OSHA 30 Preferred).
- Familiarity with industry safety and operational standards (ANSI/ACCT; ASTM F1487, EN 1176, etc).
- Ability to troubleshoot construction challenges and provide innovative solutions.
- Extensive experience in carpentry, landscape construction, or related fields.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Passion for sustainable design and environmentally conscious building practices.
- Available to travel throughout the US (primarily, but not limited to, the Southeast – AL. GA, NC, SC, VA, WV, etc.) for prolonged periods of time (ie…2weeks on/1 week off).
Compensation:
· Commensurate with experience - $29-$35/hr DOE
· Per Diem’s while working in the field
· PTO
· Travel reimbursement
· Access to company truck
Trial Period: Hiring process includes 2 week paid probationary assessment to ensure qualifications and fit for both employee and company.
