Why You Should Get Involved with ACCT: Shaping the Future

The Association for Challenge Course Technology (ACCT) is dedicated to promoting safety, professionalism, and excellence in the challenge course and zip line industry. This is guided by the work of the Board of Directors, a group of dedicated individuals who set the direction for the organization. The Board of Directors works in concert with other member-driven volunteer groups to accomplish the strategic goals of the association.

The Membership Work Group has been behind the scenes working to make things happen for you! Recently the group has been hard at work discussing new ways to engage members and bring them the benefits they want. In order to do this, we have created a Member Survey to gather feedback on who you are, what you do, what benefits you currently use, those you don’t, and benefits you would like to have available.

We have also been working on re-organizing the membership categories and looking to add new benefits - a task that we hope will be much easier to accomplish with the knowledge gained from the Member Survey.

And as always, the membership work group is the first stop in the application process for volunteers. Once you submit your application, the work group reviews it to ensure everything is in order, and then makes sure it gets into the hands of the appropriate chair member. The work group member assigned to the volunteer will then follow up shortly after to see if the volunteer has joined the desired group or needs to be placed on a waiting list or relocated to another group if the one selected was full.

The Membership Work Group also currently has 3 open volunteer seats and we would love to welcome anyone with an interest to join! We have more projects in line and can’t wait to share our progress with you!
