Board of Directors Election Approaching
Why You Should Get Involved with ACCT: Shaping the Future
The Association for Challenge Course Technology (ACCT) is dedicated to promoting safety, professionalism, and excellence in the challenge course and zip line industry. This is guided by the work of the Board of Directors, a group of dedicated individuals who set the direction for the organization. The Board of Directors works in concert with other member-driven volunteer groups to accomplish the strategic goals of the association.
ACCT invites passionate industry professionals to help shape the future of standards, innovation, and leadership in the challenge course and zip line industry. By participating in ACCT’s board elections, members have an opportunity to influence the direction and growth of the industry.
-
Membership Representation: The Board is comprised of nine members, elected by you, the members of ACCT. The intention is to include a diverse range of voices and perspectives, reflecting the interests of the entire ACCT community.
-
Open Nominations: Anyone can nominate an individual to serve on the Board (with their permission), including themself. This empowers all members to contribute to the organization's leadership.
-
Focus on Passion: Directors must be current ACCT members who are committed to understanding the industry and dedicated to addressing its challenges to help move the association and the industry forward.
-
Focus on Member Needs: The Board's purpose is to set the direction of the Association’s efforts and support the development of financial resources to accomplish the Association’s goals and actions. Some actions include the development and publication of standards, the creation and administration of credentialing programs, education efforts aimed at establishing prevailing practices, and advocacy for the industry. By serving on the Board, individuals can directly influence these initiatives and ensure they address the needs of the membership.
-
Transparency and Communication: ACCT has established clear procedures for elections and meetings. This transparency fosters trust and encourages members to participate in the election process.
-
Term Limits: Board terms are for 3 years, and board members can serve a maximum of two consecutive terms, followed by a one-year break. This allows for fresh ideas and perspectives while maintaining continuity.
