Do you love the great outdoors and working with children and teens? Do you have experience with low ropes elements and climbing towers? This job may be perfect for you! Camp Tevya, a spirited and vibrant Jewish residential camp founded in 1940, is searching for an enthusiastic and experienced Head of Outdoor Adventure to lead our nature and ropes program this summer! This is the perfect opportunity to make a difference while creating unforgettable memories. From teaching outdoor living skills to leading exciting hikes and even potential camping trips, you’ll be at the heart of our nature program, helping campers connect with nature and discover their inner adventurer. Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of experience leading outdoor living or campcraft programs at a day or residential camp.
  • Strong outdoor living skills, including campsite preparation, orienteering, hiking, outdoor survival, low ropes and climbing tower.
  • A passion for working with children and a deep appreciation for the living experience at camp.
  • A degree in education, outdoor education, or recreation is preferred.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and coordinate the nature program, including instruction in outdoor living, hiking, orienteering, first aid, environmental education, and camping.
  • Organize and supervise outdoor life experiences, including all preparations and logistics for activities.
  • Supervise and evaluate a team of approximately 5 nature staff and 5 ropes staff to ensure high-quality programming and camper safety.
  • As a member of the Leadership Team, you will have responsibilities for supervising, facilitating and participating in other areas of camp beyond your department.
