JOB SUMMARY:

Inspectors will facilitate various project-based Challenge Course and Zip Line/Canopy Tour related inspections and maintenance tasks for Bonsai clients in accordance with all Bonsai Design, ACCT, ASTM and other applicable standards and regulations. Inspections typically range in length from 1 to 3 days per inspection.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform Inspections and Maintenance work for Bonsai clientele
• Be available to perform additional post-installation services including, but not limited to, retrofits and emergency course work
• Conduct Installation work as needed and assigned
• Stay current with the ACCT standards and applicable State standards and regulations
• Stay current with challenge course/zip line tour design, installation & facilitation practices
• Interact and maintain a positive rapport with clientele to include timely responses to phone calls, e-mail, etc.
• Maintain and ensure a safe working environment for self and other employees
• Prepare for and assist with meetings on all assigned jobs
• Track and manage job costs while completing inspection and maintenance projects
• Responsible for maintaining adequate inventory of all Bonsai Design supplies and accurately recording their usage
• Provide written reports and other communication to Bonsai HQ and Inspections and Maintenance Manager
• Maintain a good, working relationship with staff and other departments
• Perform other duties as requested

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Be at least 21 years of age in accordance with ACCT testing standards and regulations
• Have a high school diploma, GED or equivalent 
• Must possess a current ICE Certification or equivalent or be qualified to certify as a professional inspector
• Demonstrate skill, experience, and training to be considered a competent person regarding worker safety and fall protection
• Willingness and availability to travel as needed, including the ability to be on the road/away from home for extended periods of time
• Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
• Up to date First Aid, CPR and AED certification or better
• Possession of or desire to obtain additional training and/or certifications on the inspection and maintenance of a variety of third-party components or devices
• Must be able to attend and successfully complete Bonsai’s Inspector training

PHYSICAL ABILITIES REQUIRED:

• Must have the ability and desire to work outside in all weather conditions including extreme cold, heat, wind, and precipitation
• Physically able to access a variety of course components for tactile assessments
• This position requires the ability to lift at least 60lbs and walk/stand for long periods of time

COMPENSATION:

• Inspectors are paid a starting rate of $18.00 - $22.00 per hour (based on experience)
• Travel to and from the job, meals and housing are provided by Bonsai when employee is away from home
