Description & Details:
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Oversight: Manage the daily operations of canopy walkway construction and challenge course projects, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
- Team Leadership: Supervise a team of carpenters, riggers, and other construction professionals, providing direction, training, and support.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure all safety protocols are followed, adherence to all OSHA standards, ACCT (Association for Challenge Course Technology) standards and best practices. Conduct regular safety meetings and site inspections.
- Technical Expertise: Oversee the installation of wooden and metal structures, rigging systems, and aerial elements. Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges on-site.
- Material & Resource Management: Coordinate the procurement and management of materials, tools, and equipment needed for the construction process.
- Client Relations: Communicate with clients, stakeholders, and contractors to ensure alignment with project goals, timelines, and expectations.
- Quality Control: Maintain high standards of craftsmanship and finish, inspecting completed work to ensure adherence to plans and specifications.
- Project Documentation: Maintain accurate records of project progress, including progress logs, safety reports, and material usage. Compile documents at the end of each project to compose commissioning packet.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction management, with emphasis and experience in elevated walkways, challenge course building, or related field. ACCT membership and experience a plus.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of carpentry, rigging, rope access, and arborist techniques .
- Certifications: OSHA 10 or 30, SPRAT or IRATA training a plus, or equivalent experience. First Aid/CPR certification is a plus.
- Leadership: Proven experience in managing teams, with strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Hands-On Ability: Comfortable working at heights and in various outdoor environments.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, climbing, and working in various weather conditions.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to oversee complex projects while maintaining a high level of precision and craftsmanship.
- Valid Driver’s License: Ability to travel to job sites as required.
Preferred Skills:
- Project Management Experience: Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring client satisfaction and efficient workflow.
- Construction Knowledge: Experience with heavy equipment, rigging, and other specialized construction tools. Experience with rope access systems.
- Computer Skills: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
- Environmental Awareness: Knowledge of sustainable building practices and environmental considerations.
