Remembering Bobby Tod
We would like to take a moment to recognize the passing of a core member of the original force behind the ACCT standards efforts. Bobby P. Tod has “jumped off the pamper pole permanently”, according to Cindi Walker while also recognizing he had the purest heart, amazing sense of humor, and brought an engineering perspective to the challenge course industry to help others think critically about established practices.

Bobby is the founder of Rope Works Inc., an original voting member of the ACCT. Bobby was part of the first work group for the development of installation standards. At that time it was called Construction Guidelines. He was known for presenting at conferences on Ropes Course Force Analysis, he created a longstanding conference workshop titled “Builder’s Toolbox” that became an ACCT newsletter contribution for the Parallel Lines. Bobby served on the ACCT Board of Directors and contributed countless years to the development of the now called Design, Performance, and Inspection Standards for the ACCT.

Conference Scholarship Opportunity!!!

If you or your staff need some funding support to be able to attend the 2025 ACCT Conference and Expo, then take a look at the ACCT Conference Scholarship.
The deadline to apply is October 4th.

ACCT will award a minimum of 4 scholarships. The scholarship will provide financial support to assist with general conference registration fees only. Scholarship recipients will be selected by the 2024-2025 Conference Work Group.

In 2019, I was excited to attend the ACCT conference in Colorado, but I realized that the only way I could make it happen was by volunteering as a Yellow Hat. In 2020, I received a scholarship to attend the virtual conference. Without these opportunities, I wouldn't have been able to attend. My passion for team building, leadership development, and emotional intelligence has grown through my time at camps, outdoor education centers, and conference centers. These passions align with the work of ACCT and the conference work group. Being part of a committee that puts together a conference continuing the work I love is very special to me."— Lara Kreuter, ACCT Workshop Coordinator
